Our client, a pharma agency on the East Coast, is looking for a freelance Senior Pharmaceutical Media Strategist to start immediately for a remote contract position through mid-late August. This position will play a critical role in developing and executing omnichannel media strategies for biotech and specialty pharmaceutical brands across both HCP and consumer audiences. This individual will lead strategic media planning initiatives, leveraging deep customer insights, data analytics, and market dynamics to design targeted, measurable, and high-impact media campaigns. The role requires expertise across a broad mix of healthcare media channels, including digital, programmatic, endemic, social, search, video, CTV, point-of-care, and emerging platforms. The ideal candidate will be highly strategic, data-driven, and experienced in translating complex business objectives into effective media strategies that drive brand performance and patient outcomes.
  • Please note this is a remote position that requires 20-40 hours/week immediately through mid-late August with the potential for extension.
  • Pay rate: $83-100/hour (1099 preferred)
Responsibilities:
  • Develop comprehensive omnichannel media strategies aligned to brand objectives for HCP and DTC campaigns
  • Translate customer insights, market research, and business goals into actionable and measurable media plans
  • Lead audience development and segmentation strategies using first- and third-party data sources
  • Optimize channel mix and media investments across digital, programmatic, endemic, social, search, video, CTV, and point-of-care platforms
  • Partner with analytics teams to define KPIs, measurement frameworks, and performance benchmarks
  • Continuously analyze campaign performance and recommend optimizations to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with brand strategy, account, creative, and analytics teams to ensure integrated campaign execution
  • Leverage leading healthcare media platforms (e.g., DeepIntent, Doximity, Medscape, PulsePoint, Sermo) to activate and optimize campaigns
  • Utilize data and insights tools (e.g., IQVIA, Veeva Crossix, CMI Media Group tools, MMIT, Symphony Health, Komodo Health) to inform strategy and reporting
  • Stay current on healthcare media trends, privacy regulations, and emerging technologies impacting pharma marketing
  • Contribute to new business efforts, thought leadership, and strategic recommendations for clients

Required Qualifications:
  • 6–10 years of experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare media strategy, specifically supporting prescription pharma brands
  • Proven experience developing and executing omnichannel media strategies across HCP and consumer audiences
  • Deep understanding of healthcare media ecosystem, including endemic, programmatic, and point-of-care channels
  • Hands-on experience with platforms such as DeepIntent, Doximity, Medscape, PulsePoint, Sermo, and similar tools
  • Strong proficiency with healthcare data and analytics platforms including IQVIA, Veeva Crossix, MMIT, Symphony Health, Komodo Health, and related tools
  • Experience working in or with oncology, rare disease, specialty pharma, neurology, immunology, or cell and gene therapy preferred
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience delivering to senior stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
