Our client is a rapidly growing, privately held property management company with a diverse portfolio of multifamily apartment and townhome communities across the Southern United States. As the company continues to expand, it is seeking a dynamic HR leader to help build scalable people strategies and strengthen its organizational foundation. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Director of Human Resources will serve as a strategic business partner and hands-on executive responsible for leading and transforming the Human Resources function across a growing, multi-state, multi-site organization. Leading a team of five direct reports, this individual will drive HR strategy while remaining actively involved in the day-to-day execution of all HR functions. The successful candidate will build scalable HR infrastructure, strengthen compliance, elevate employee engagement, develop leadership capabilities, and create best practices that support the organization's continued growth. Serve as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to the CEO and executive leadership team.
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of five direct reports, fostering accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.
Transform and modernize the HR function by implementing scalable policies, processes, and best practices.
Build and strengthen a high-performance, employee-focused culture across multiple states and locations.
Lead all aspects of employee relations, investigations, performance management, coaching, and conflict resolution.
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and HR regulations.
Oversee workers' compensation, leave administration, HR compliance audits, and risk management initiatives.
Review and ensure proper job classifications, compensation practices, and exempt/non-exempt compliance.
Partner with leadership on talent acquisition, succession planning, workforce planning, and organizational development.
Develop employee engagement initiatives that improve retention, leadership effectiveness, and organizational culture.
Oversee HR operations, payroll oversight, HRIS administration (Paycom experience preferred), and benefits administration.
Establish HR metrics and reporting to support strategic business decisions.
Drive continuous improvement while maintaining a visible, hands-on leadership style.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred.
10+ years of progressive Human Resources leadership experience.
Experience leading HR in a multi-state, multi-site organization.
Strong expertise in employee relations, compliance, employment law, compensation, and HR operations.
Demonstrated success transforming or building HR functions within a growing organization.
Proven experience leading and developing HR teams.
Experience with Paycom or a comparable HRIS platform is preferred.
Outstanding leadership, communication, coaching, and executive influencing skills.

Highly collaborative with exceptional executive presence.
