Our Pharma Agency is seeking an experienced Freelance Medical Writer to support its West Coast team. This role is ideal for a scientific writer with a strong medical communications or pharmaceutical advertising background who can translate complex scientific and clinical data into clear, accurate, and compelling content for healthcare professional audiences. The ideal candidate has an advanced scientific degree, agency experience, and the ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced healthcare marketing environment while maintaining the highest standards of scientific accuracy and regulatory compliance. Advanced degree required (PharmD, PhD, MD, DO, DNP, MSN, PA, NP, or similar life sciences degree).
- Rate: $60/hr.
- Location: Remote Pacific Time Zone
Responsibilities
- Develop scientifically accurate, evidence-based medical content for pharmaceutical and biotech clients.
- Interpret and summarize clinical studies, scientific literature, and medical data.
- Write and edit a variety of materials, which may include HCP promotional materials, Medical communications deliverables, Slide decks, Scientific manuscripts, Abstracts and posters, Advisory board materials, Training materials, MOA content, Digital and omnichannel assets
- Ensure all materials are scientifically accurate, balanced, and referenced appropriately.
- Collaborate closely with account, strategy, creative, and medical teams.
- Incorporate medical/legal/regulatory (MLR) feedback and revisions.
- Stay current on therapeutic area developments and clinical research.
Required Qualifications:
- Advanced degree required (PharmD, PhD, MD, DO, DNP, MSN, PA, NP, or similar life sciences degree).
- Prior experience working within a Medical Communications agency or Healthcare Promotional Agency is required.
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical marketing and healthcare communications.
- Experience writing for healthcare professionals (HCP) preferred.
- Excellent scientific writing, editing, and literature interpretation skills.
- Comfortable managing multiple projects in a deadline-driven agency environment.
- Experience working with MLR review processes is highly preferred.
- California-based candidates are strongly preferred, although the position is fully remote.
