Our client, a leading pet insurance company based in NYC, is seeking a Senior Design Program Manager to support the team during a maternity leave coverage. This role is focused on driving operational excellence across design and product teams, ensuring that programs are executed efficiently, on time, and at a high level of quality. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in fast-paced environments, with a strong ability to bring structure to complex, cross-functional initiatives. You will partner closely with design, UX/UI, product, and marketing teams to streamline workflows, establish scalable processes, and operationalize best practices. This individual will play a key role in building and refining program frameworks, managing timelines and budgets, and enabling teams to deliver exceptional digital products and integrated campaigns.
  • Duration: September-January 2026 (maternity leave cover)
  • Location: Hybrid, 3-days/week onsite in Downtown Manhattan
  • Rate: $60-65/hour
Responsibilities:
  • Lead end-to-end program management across design, UX/UI, product, and brand initiatives
  • Drive planning, prioritization, and execution of design programs across multiple workstreams
  • Build and implement scalable processes, playbooks, and standard operating procedures for design and product teams
  • Manage and track program timelines, milestones, and dependencies to ensure on-time delivery
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to align on goals, priorities, and deliverables
  • Oversee resource planning and allocation across design and creative teams
  • Own program budgets, tracking spend and ensuring efficient use of resources
  • Establish clear communication frameworks to keep teams informed and aligned
  • Identify risks, bottlenecks, and inefficiencies, and proactively implement solutions
  • Support the delivery of high-quality digital products and integrated marketing initiatives
  • Ensure consistency, quality, and operational rigor across all design outputs
Required Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of experience in design program management, design operations, or related roles
  • Proven experience supporting product design and marketing organizations at scale
  • Strong expertise in program and project management tools (e.g., Workfront, Asana, Jira, Wrike or similar)
  • Familiarity with design and collaboration tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.)
  • Exceptional organizational and program management skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple complex programs simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across all levels of an organization
  • Experience managing budgets, timelines, and cross-functional dependencies
  • Ability to bring structure and clarity to ambiguous or evolving workstreams
  • Prior experience in a design-led organization, agency, or product-driven company preferred
