We have partnered with an excellent client for their Senior Controller position. The Senior Controller will be responsible for overseeing all financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls to ensure financial stability and profitability. This role will play a critical part in managing financial operations, optimizing cash flow, and supporting strategic initiatives for our managed staffing services business as well as our automation and government programs expansion. The ideal candidate will have experience in high-growth environments, preferably within professional services, staffing, or insurance-related industries.
- Salary is based off experience $180-$250 base plus bonus and full benefits. Role reports to CEO and can be remote with light travel to Austin and Alabama
Responsibilities:
Financial Leadership & Strategy
- Oversee financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement financial controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets.
- Partner with executive leadership to align financial strategy with business goals, including expansion into government programs and claims automation.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to optimize profitability in response to shrinking margins in the commercial business line.
- Proven track record of developing talent, change management, and making great hiring decisions.
Accounting & Compliance
- Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, including account reconciliations and financial statement preparation.
- Ensure compliance with tax laws, payroll regulations, and other financial reporting requirements.
- Lead audits (internal and external) and maintain relationships with auditors, banks, and regulatory agencies.
- Optimize financial systems and processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
Cash Flow & Expense Management
- Oversee cash flow planning and management to ensure financial stability and liquidity.
- Monitor accounts receivable and payable to maintain strong financial health.
- Implement cost-control measures while identifying opportunities for financial efficiencies.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Analysis
- Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Provide financial modeling and scenario analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Analyze financial performance and provide insights on revenue trends, cost management, and investment decisions.
Technology & Automation Integration
- Work with the HR, operations, and engineering teams to integrate financial systems with automated claims processing technology.
- Support financial process automation to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Evaluate and implement new financial tools and software to enhance reporting and compliance.
Required Qualifications:
- CPA or CMA required.
- 12+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a Controller or senior finance role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems; experience with automation and technology-driven finance solutions is a plus. Currently on Dynamics 365
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Managerial Experience is a must
