We're hiring a Freelance Associate Technical Designer for knits to join a NYC  fashion team supporting product development from concept through production. As a Technical Designer, you will play a key role in ensuring consistent fit standards, evaluating garment construction, facilitating fit sessions, and communicating product updates with internal teams and vendors throughout the development process.

• Hourly pay rate is $31.00

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate proto, fit, and production samples to ensure measurement accuracy, fit, quality, and construction standards are met
• Lead and facilitate garment fit sessions
• Partner closely with Design and Production teams to achieve desired fit and aesthetic goals
• Communicate fit comments, pattern corrections, and construction revisions to vendors
• Represent company standards for fit consistency and garment construction
• Create and maintain fit reports, sample tracking documents, and development records
• Track sample status and ensure timely communication throughout the product lifecycle
• Collaborate cross-functionally with internal and external partners to support product development milestones
• Participate in in-person fittings, approvals, and product development meetings as business needs require
• Support additional projects and initiatives as assigned

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
•  2-3+ years of Technical Design experience within apparel or fashion
• Strong patternmaking skills required
• Knits experience preferred
• Thorough understanding of garment construction, fit, and product development processes
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proven ability to work collaboratively across Design, Production, Merchandising, and Vendor teams
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
