We are looking for a hands-on, multimedia, digital Senior Designer to develop best-in-class creative that helps drive the consumer business for a well known mass media company. The ideal candidate keeps their craft sharp against the competitive market and emerging best practices, brings genuine excitement for pitching fresh, new ideas, and is adaptable and curious about how AI is reshaping design tools and workflows — with the ability to bring that same trend-savvy, AI-forward mindset to the junior designers they mentor.\
- Pay Rate: $62/hour
- Sep 14 – Dec 31, 2026
- 4 days onsite, 1 day WFH
Responsibilities
- Conceptualize, design, and develop captivating digital creative assets, including graphics, animations, videos, and other content for our owned and operated channels (website, email, and app) and paid media platforms. Motion graphics knowledge is a plus.
- Ensure that all visuals, messaging, and interactive elements are aligned with the creative vision and meet the brand standards of individual brands within our portfolio.
- Follow strategic thinking and design principles in all aspects of creative development, delivering best-in-class designs that effectively drive consumer business growth.
- Mentorship — Educate and partner with designers and junior designers on various projects, such as 360º marketing campaigns and brand style guides, including how to responsibly evaluate and apply AI-assisted tools in their workflow. Support them in the development of creative strategy.
- Trend & AI scouting — Keep a pulse on competitive creative in market — what other brands and publishers are doing — and on emerging AI design tools and techniques, bringing fresh, well-informed ideas back to the team rather than waiting to be asked.
- Collaborate with the Creative Lead and Project Management team to leverage data and analytics, gain insights into creative performance, and provide recommendations for asset updates to optimize performance, materializing the Executive Creative Director’s vision.
- Maintain regular communication with the Project Management team and colleagues, providing updates on project timelines and progress.
- Stay current with the competitive landscape, industry best practices, and emerging design, AI, and consumer revenue generation trends.
- Manage and organize raw media and finished assets, ensuring proper storage and backup for easy accessibility and retrieval for internal and external partners.
Required Qualifications:
- Design experience — 8–10 years of proven experience as a designer, with a track record of working as a senior designer demonstrating the ability to create engaging, revenue-generating campaigns. Experience in a consumer-focused or revenue-driven environment is preferred (marketing, branding, advertising, or e-commerce background).
- Portfolio — A strong portfolio that showcases design skills and creativity across a diverse range of creative projects, highlighting the ability to deliver high-quality designs and generate consumer engagement.
- Design fundamentals — Comprehensive understanding of design principles, including typography, color theory, and UX, to create visually appealing, user-friendly designs aligned with brand standards.
- AI adaptability — Genuinely curious and adaptable when it comes to AI — comfortable exploring AI-assisted design tools and workflows, evaluating which are worth adopting, and helping translate emerging AI capabilities into team practice rather than waiting for direction.
- Competitive/trend savvy — Sharp awareness of the competitive market and broader design landscape — actively tracking what's trending across brands, platforms, and channels, and bringing that point of view into pitches and creative reviews.
- Communication & collaboration — Ability to communicate ideas clearly, actively participate in discussions, and work collaboratively with colleagues and the Creative Director.
- Detail orientation — Strong attention to detail, ensuring all design elements, messaging, and interactive features align with creative vision and brand standards.
- Organization & time management — Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize across multiple simultaneous projects, meet deadlines, and provide regular status updates.
- Proactivity — A proactive, adaptable attitude — staying current with industry trends and technologies, and open to learning and implementing new design approaches and tools.
- Accessibility — Knowledge of ADA-compliant design is desired.
- Motion & UX — Knowledge of motion graphics and animation, understanding of good UX/UI design, basic HTML, and social media principles.
- Tools — Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and After Effects; working knowledge of G Suite and project management systems.
