Our client, an AI safety nonprofit, is looking for a Sr. Program Manager, Marketing in NYC for a temp-to-perm role. This position will help to lead the planning and execution of integrated marketing and advocacy campaigns across digital, social, OOH, and emerging channels. This role sits at the intersection of marketing, advocacy, account management, and operations, serving as a central point of coordination between internal teams and external creative agencies, PR firms, digital marketing partners, and vendors. The Sr. Program Manager will manage campaigns through the full lifecyclefrom strategy and briefing through creative development, production, launch, measurement, and optimizationwhile helping translate complex issues around artificial intelligence into compelling, accessible, and effective marketing and communications programs. The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of experience managing integrated campaigns within a marketing or advertising agency, strong project and account management expertise, a genuine interest in AI and its societal impact, and familiarity with the Washington advocacy and public affairs landscape. - Pay Rate: $60-75/hour, $120-150k (commensurate with experience)
- Location: Remote NYC with occasional onsite meetings in NYC or DC

Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end planning and execution of integrated marketing and advocacy campaigns across digital, social, OOH, and other channels
- Serve as the primary point of contact for external creative agencies, PR firms, digital marketing partners, production partners, and vendors
- Translate advocacy priorities and communications strategies into clear campaign briefs, project plans, timelines, deliverables, and workflows
- Partner with creative, strategy, communications, public affairs, media, analytics, and leadership teams to bring campaigns from concept through execution
- Manage the full production lifecycle for creative assets, including briefing, development, reviews, approvals, revisions, trafficking, launch, and asset management
- Maintain project schedules, editorial calendars, campaign calendars, asset libraries, and other marketing operations systems
- Establish strong operating rhythms and reporting cadences to keep internal teams and external partners aligned
- Track campaign KPIs and performance against objectives, identifying insights and opportunities to improve campaign effectiveness
- Develop rigorous test-and-learn feedback loops across creative, messaging, audiences, and channels
- Help develop marketing and communications strategies that make complex AI-related issues understandable, relevant, and compelling to broad audiences
- Use marketing, storytelling, audience insights, and creative strategy to build awareness and understanding around safe and responsible AI
- Help shape campaigns that advocate for responsible AI development, appropriate safeguards, transparency, accountability, and beneficial uses of AI
- Partner with communications and public affairs teams to ensure campaigns are responsive to the evolving AI policy and advocacy landscape
- Stay informed on developments in AI policy, regulation, public sentiment, and the broader national conversation around responsible AI
- Help translate complex policy and technical concepts into clear campaign objectives, audience strategies, messaging frameworks, and creative briefs
- Bring an understanding of how marketing can influence public opinion, stakeholder engagement, and policy conversations
- Help ensure campaigns are grounded in credible information while remaining accessible, engaging, and relevant to their intended audiences
- Prepare campaign reporting, executive updates, performance summaries, and recommendations for internal leadership and stakeholders
- Identify opportunities to improve campaign operations, agency management, production workflows, and cross-functional collaboration
- Bring structure and operational discipline to fast-moving advocacy programs where policy developments, news cycles, and stakeholder needs can shift quickly
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in marketing, advertising, integrated campaign management, account management, program management, or marketing operations
- Significant experience managing integrated campaigns within a marketing or advertising agency environment
- Proven experience managing campaigns across digital, social, OOH, and other integrated channels
- Strong understanding of how marketing, communications, public affairs, and advocacy work together to influence audiences and advance a cause
- Genuine interest in artificial intelligence and the social, economic, policy, and societal issues surrounding its development and use
- Strong interest in advocating for the safe, responsible, and beneficial development and adoption of AI
- Familiarity with the Washington advocacy, public affairs, policy, and regulatory landscape
- Ability to quickly understand complex policy or technical topics and help translate them into compelling marketing and communications strategies
- Experience working with external creative agencies, PR firms, digital marketing partners, media partners, production companies, and vendors
- Strong account management and relationship-building skills, with the ability to serve as a trusted partner to internal stakeholders and external agencies
- Deep project and program management expertise, including experience managing complex timelines, dependencies, budgets, approvals, and competing priorities
- Strong understanding of creative development and production workflows from initial brief through final delivery
- Demonstrated experience using campaign performance data, analytics, and audience insights to inform optimization
- Excellent strategic communication skills and the ability to make complex subjects clear, accessible, and engaging
- Strong understanding of audience segmentation, messaging, creative strategy, and integrated campaign planning
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving environment where policy developments, news cycles, and campaign priorities can change quickly
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple complex workstreams simultaneously
- Comfortable working with senior leaders, policy experts, creatives, strategists, agencies, and external partners
