We are seeking a Senior Java Developer with 10+ years of experience to join our engineering team in Pleasanton, CA. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and relational databases, along with experience working in a retail environment. This is an onsite, 5-days-a-week opportunity focused on building scalable, high-performance applications and contributing to technical leadership.

• Pay Range :$80/hr on w2 to $85/hr on w2

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Design and implement microservices-based architectures and contribute to system design.
• Develop and optimize database schemas, queries, indexes, and stored procedures.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and enterprise applications.
• Collaborate with product, QA, DevOps, and frontend teams.
• Conduct code reviews and promote clean coding and engineering best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues.
• Mentor junior and mid-level developers.
• Contribute to architectural decisions, technical roadmaps, and CI/CD improvements.
• Ensure application security, scalability, performance, and reliability.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements.

Required Qualifications:

• 10+ years of professional Java development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, and Spring Security.
• Proven experience designing and developing microservices.
• Retail industry experience is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
• Experience with Hibernate/JPA and RESTful API development.
• Proficiency with Maven/Gradle and Git.
• Experience with JUnit, Mockito, and TDD.
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging platforms is a plus.
• Understanding of AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong knowledge of design patterns, SOLID principles, and clean code practices.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, communication, and mentoring skills.
• Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
