We are hiring a Freelance Sourcing Specialist to support the product development and sourcing process from initial concept through production and delivery. This role partners closely with cross-functional teams, vendors, and suppliers to help ensure products are developed efficiently, cost-effectively, and delivered on schedule.The ideal candidate has strong organizational and analytical skills, a passion for product, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced retail environment.

• This position operates 4 days onsite in NYC and Fridays are remote.
• Hourly pay rate based on experience: $28.00-32.00

Responsibilities:

• Support sourcing and product development activities within assigned product categories from concept through production and shipment.
• Assist the Sourcing team with execution of product development initiatives, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met.
• Prepare and validate purchase order information, ensuring accuracy before submission to vendors.
• Support product costing analysis and gain understanding of cost components and pricing structures.
• Review, organize, and evaluate product samples to assess aesthetics, quality, materials, and finishes.
• Monitor milestone calendars and critical deadlines, proactively identifying risks and communicating updates to stakeholders.
• Partner with vendors and agents to help ensure timely production and on-time delivery of shipments.
• Maintain awareness of industry trends, market developments, competitive products, and consumer preferences.
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal teams and external business partners.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of value, quality, and pricing within the retail marketplace.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and other spreadsheet tools
• Experience in sourcing, merchandising, product development, retail, supply chain, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong retail math and analytical skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
