Our client, a personal care manufacturing company, is looking for a Regulatory Specialist to join their team! This will be a hybrid role working out of their office in Kenilworth. The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of hands-on experience in dangerous goods transportation, hazard communication, SDS authoring, or product compliance. 
  • Contract Role: 9 months
  • Pay: $40/hr on W2
Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for managing dangerous goods master data, transportation coding, and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) authoring.
  • Evaluates product documentation to assign and maintain accurate multi-modal transport classifications (UN numbers, hazard classes, packing groups, etc.) across enterprise systems.
  • Authors, revises, and publishes compliant SDSs while rigorously checking content for hazard classifications, labeling elements, and physical/chemical properties.
  • Reconciles conflicting data, enters information into platforms like SAP and JDE, investigates system errors, and executes ongoing data cleanup.
  • Partners with Regulatory, Supply Chain, R&D, and Logistics teams to ensure regulatory compliance, resolve technical inquiries, and maintain audit-ready records.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific or technical field (such as chemistry, biology, or engineering), or possesses equivalent practical experience.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in dangerous goods transportation, hazard communication, SDS authoring, or product compliance.
  • Demonstrates strong technical data interpretation, record-keeping abilities, and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for managing high-volume data.
  • Preferred background includes working with ERP systems like SAP and JD Edwards (JDE), alongside SDS authoring platforms like WERCS Studio.
  • Desirable expertise spans major global transportation frameworks (U.S. DOT, IATA, IMDG, etc.), GHS hazard classification, and formulation-based industries such as cosmetics or consumer products.
