Job Description

Our client, a leading social and creator-driven advertising agency, is seeking a Social Media Manager to join their team. This role sits at the intersection of data, strategy, and creative — serving as the primary voice and advocate for clients across social platforms while partnering cross-functionally with Strategy, Creative, Production, and Client Services to optimize campaigns in real time. The ideal candidate comes from an in-house brand social media background, brings strong strategic instincts and community management skills, and is culturally tuned in with a sharp POV on what makes social content work. Agency experience is a plus but not required — brand-side candidates who are ready to bring that perspective into an agency environment are strongly encouraged to apply.

  • This is a full-time role. Hybrid role 2 days a week in office. Salary range is $75-90k.

Responsibilities:

Social Intelligence, Trends & Creativity:

  • Monitor emerging social trends, cultural conversations, and influencer activity through social listening and platform tracking to inform new and existing client briefs.
  • Leverage social listening tools to identify emerging audience behaviors, engagement opportunities, and cultural insights that unlock fresh creative ideas.
  • Translate emerging trends into innovative, social-first concepts in partnership with Strategy and Creative teams.
  • Keep the agency informed on emerging platforms, rising creators, and shifts across the influencer landscape.
  • Contribute to agency thought leadership by developing strong social-first perspectives and maintaining a clear POV on industry trends and cultural moments.

Strategy Planning & Development:

  • Partner with the Strategy team to translate social listening, research, and cultural insights into content plans, campaign recommendations, and overarching social strategies.
  • Apply audience insights and platform data to inform strategic recommendations for both new business pitches and ongoing client work.
  • Monitor emerging platform features and social behaviors to identify opportunities and incorporate relevant innovations into influencer and social briefings.
  • Convert real-time performance data into actionable recommendations that improve content strategy, campaign outcomes, and community growth.
  • Develop and maintain tone of voice guidelines that ensure brands communicate consistently across platforms while staying true to their core identity.

Community Management & Engagement:

  • Manage brand-owned social media channels across primary platforms where applicable, including developing and overseeing content calendars aligned with campaign objectives and key cultural moments.
  • Create platform-native content and copy tailored to each channel, audience, and brand voice in partnership with the Creative team.
  • Lead both proactive and reactive community management across comments, DMs, mentions, and community inquiries, maintaining timely and brand-appropriate engagement.
  • Partner directly with content creators to brief, develop, review, and optimize social content, ensuring alignment with brand strategy and campaign objectives.
  • Work with Analytics and Insights to interpret channel and community performance data, applying learnings to continuously improve engagement and content strategy.
  • Identify and escalate complex community concerns, potential brand risks, and emerging crisis scenarios to the appropriate internal partners.

Collaboration:

  • Partner cross-functionally with Strategy, Creative, Data and Analytics, and Client Services to ensure social content and community management efforts support broader campaign and brand objectives.
  • Communicate community sentiment, emerging trends, performance insights, and key learnings to internal teams to enable informed, agile decision-making.
  • Proactively surface risks, opportunities, and strategic recommendations to support successful campaign execution across all client accounts.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in marketing, social media, or a related field.
  • 3-6 years of experience in social media management, community management, or digital marketing; in-house brand experience is preferred, with agency experience considered a plus.
  • Social strategy and community management are the core priorities for this role — candidates with a strong strategic foundation and instinct for audience engagement are strongly preferred over those whose background is primarily content creation.
  • Proven experience creating, publishing, and managing platform-native social content across major platforms including Meta, TikTok, X, and Pinterest.
  • Excellent copywriting and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt tone, voice, and messaging fluidly across multiple brands and platforms.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, algorithms, emerging trends, and platform best practices across any vertical — auto, fashion, CPG, entertainment, and others are all equally relevant.
  • Experience with social media management and publishing tools is required; Sprout Social is listed here, but comparable platform experience is equally welcome.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to spot the nuances that drive deeper audience connection.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple disciplines and stakeholder groups.
  • Comfortable thriving in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment while managing competing priorities and responding to real-time cultural moments.
  • A portfolio of relevant work is a plus but not required — examples discussed verbally during the interview process are completely acceptable.

If you meet the required qualifications and are interested in this role, please apply today.
