Solomon Page is partnering with a leading beauty and personal care brand to find a Designer for a contract opportunity in Columbus, OH. This Designer will create innovative packaging and graphic design concepts for beauty, fragrance, and body care products. The role blends creative storytelling, consumer insights, and trend research to develop compelling visual experiences across new launches, core collections, and innovation initiatives, from concept through production.

• Contract: September 2026 – March 2027 (Leave Coverage)
• Hours: 40/week
• Pay Rate: $55-59//hour
• Location: Columbus, OH (hybrid)

Responsibilities

• Develop creative packaging and graphic design concepts for beauty, fragrance, and body care collections.
• Translate fragrance stories, trend insights, and consumer behaviors into compelling visual design solutions.
• Create cohesive design systems spanning multiple product forms and packaging formats.
• Execute designs from initial concept through final production.
• Develop mood boards, concept presentations, and visual storytelling materials.
• Prepare Design Turnovers (DTOs) and production-ready artwork.
• Review mechanical files and production artwork to ensure design accuracy and quality.
• Research beauty, wellness, lifestyle, color, material, and packaging trends to inspire future concepts.
• Explore innovative finishes, decorative techniques, materials, and graphic treatments.
• Provide creative direction and approved artwork to production and mechanical art teams.
• Collaborate closely with Packaging Engineering, Product Development, Merchandising, Production, and Design leadership.
• Participate in store visits, competitive shopping, and consumer research activities.
• Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Packaging Design, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 4+ years of professional experience in packaging design, graphic design, illustration, or a related creative discipline.
• Experience within beauty, fragrance, personal care, consumer products, or lifestyle brands preferred.
• Strong portfolio showcasing packaging design, typography, color, visual storytelling, and brand development.
• Ability to create cohesive design systems across multiple products and packaging structures.
• Strong conceptual thinking and the ability to bring ideas from inspiration through final execution.
• Experience working with photography, illustration, pattern, typography, and other visual assets.
• Understanding of print production, packaging artwork, and decorative finishes preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Strong project management, organization, and communication skills.
• Ability to balance creative direction with fresh, innovative thinking.
