We are looking for a Publicity Coordinator to join a top media publication's Publicity team in New York, New York! This role will support publicity efforts across a dynamic slate of series and specials. The Publicity Coordinator will work closely with the full Series and Specials and Editorial teams, contributing to the development and execution of strategic publicity campaigns, and will report directly to the Director of Publicity. The ideal candidate will have an interest in publicity and the factual entertainment industry. This role will support multiple projects and team members, so timeliness and accuracy, along with a positive and collaborative approach, are key.
- Hours: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM ET
Responsibilities
Media Relations
- Build and maintain relationships with press and pitch regularly to secure coverage.
- Media will include traditional, non-traditional, and content creators.
Campaign Strategy
- Provide reactive support for global acquisitions inquiries.
- Contribute to campaign brainstorming.
- Lead or co-lead select campaigns.
- Support teams in reporting, including slide decks and campaign beat reports.
Press Materials
- Work with production partners to acquire all delivered materials for campaigns.
- Create and distribute press materials to press.
- Manage broadcast asset packages and deliver assets to partners.
- Create and send out monthly press highlights.
- Maintain materials on the press site.
International Collaboration
- Create and share nomination grids and schedules.
- Schedule and run interviews.
- Share press materials and international asset packages for localization.
- Manage incoming requests.
Creative Requests
- Manage department creative requests.
- Traffic materials with the creative team.
- Arrange final delivery.
Operations Requests
- Manage operations requests for clips, screeners, and other materials.
Agency Management
- Manage agency deliverables.
- Provide assets as needed.
Social Media
- Manage PR account.
- Serve as a liaison for the internal social team.
Screening Requests
- Manage all screening requests for shows and specials, from information requests to rights and clearances and file delivery.
Coverage
- Track show coverage.
- Create and send out PR updates.
- Monitor and submit daily clips.
Events
- Travel to and help manage press and influencer junkets and events.
- Create and manage event assets and briefing documents.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 2–3 years of experience in publicity or related fields
- Microsoft Office Suite experience, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook (Basic to Intermediate)
- Google Suite experience, including Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Forms (Basic to Intermediate)
- Willingness to learn additional applications such as M360, MailChimp, Airtable, and other platforms
