Our client is seeking an experienced AI Engineer to help build, optimize, and scale next-generation AI agents and agentic workflows supporting business functions such as planning, allocation, forecasting, pricing, and operational execution. This role is part of an expanding AI initiative focused on developing and deploying AI agents that improve productivity, automate workflows, and drive better business outcomes. The position is focused less on traditional machine learning model development and more on the practical implementation, optimization, deployment, and operationalization of AI agents in production environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building or supporting Agentic AI solutions, Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative AI technologies, cloud-based AI workflows, and agent orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, or Google Agent Development Kit (ADK).

• Contract Duration: 6+ Months

• Rate Range: $45-$58/hr on W2

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and optimize AI agents supporting enterprise business workflows.

• Build and maintain agentic workflows that drive automation, execution, and business insights.

• Integrate LLMs and Generative AI services into production environments.

• Utilize APIs and AI software development kits (SDKs) to enhance and extend AI agent capabilities.

• Develop backend services and integrations using Python.

• Support AI workloads leveraging Google Cloud Platform (GCP) technologies and BigQuery.

• Optimize AI agent performance, token utilization, and cost efficiency.

• Partner with business stakeholders to understand real-world business use cases and develop AI-driven solutions.

• Design scalable and maintainable AI solutions that improve decision-making across multiple business domains.

• Support deployment, monitoring, and operational excellence of AI-powered systems.

• Continuously improve AI agents and workflows based on business requirements and operational performance.

Required Qualifications:

• Strong hands-on Python development experience.

• Experience building or supporting AI agents and agentic workflows.

• Hands-on experience with LLMs and Generative AI technologies.

• Experience with AI SDKs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar platforms.

• Experience integrating APIs into AI-driven solutions.

• Experience with GCP cloud technologies, including BigQuery and other cloud-native services.

• Experience working with unstructured data.

• Understanding of AI agent optimization, deployment, monitoring, and operational performance.

• Experience developing scalable AI solutions for production environments.

• Experience working in multi-cloud environments.

• GCP experience preferred; Azure exposure is helpful.

• Experience in retail, supply chain, planning, forecasting, or allocation is a plus.

• Experience with SQL and/or R.

• Experience optimizing AI workloads for performance and cost.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Strong hands-on AI Engineer with practical production experience building and operationalizing AI agents.

• Strong Python developer with experience integrating LLMs, APIs, and AI services.

• Comfortable working with agent orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, or Google ADK.

• Experienced with GCP and BigQuery.

• Understands the operational considerations of production AI, including performance, token usage, cost, deployment, and monitoring.

• Able to translate business use cases into scalable AI-driven solutions.

• Retail, supply chain, planning, forecasting, or allocation experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
