Our client, a global consumer products and retail organization, is seeking a Sales Tax Associate to join their team on a 9-month contract basis. This hybrid position is based in Bridgewater, NJ, with 4 days onsite and 1 day remote. The role will support sales and use tax compliance, audit preparation, and tax-related operational activities. If you have experience supporting tax compliance, audit activities, and sales/use tax reporting, we encourage you to apply!

Role Overview:

• Contract Role: 9 months
• Pay: $33-38/hr W2 (No C2C or 1099)
• Schedule: Hybrid 4 days onsite, 1 day remote, standard 40 hour work week

Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly and quarterly sales and use tax returns, including filings, payments, journal entries, and account reconciliations
• Support sales and use tax audits by gathering documentation, store and fixed asset listings, trial balances, and related records
• Pull sales and expense data for audit sample testing requests
• Provide supporting invoices and documentation for audit review
• Assist with the resolution of day-to-day tax exceptions within Ariba
• Support ad hoc tax projects and process improvement initiatives as needed

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• 1+ years of experience in sales and use tax, indirect tax, or general accounting
• Experience preparing tax returns, reconciliations, and supporting compliance activities
• Knowledge of sales and use tax regulations and audit processes
• Experience with Ariba or similar systems is a plus
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
