Our client, a well-established and growing retail organization, is seeking an experienced supply chain leader to oversee a multi-facility distribution network and lead operational strategy across fulfillment and logistics functions.  This role will be responsible for driving performance, scalability, customer service, cost optimization, and organizational effectiveness while ensuring the infrastructure and talent are in place to support continued growth.
  • This position requires an on-site presence within the Mid-Atlantic region.  Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.
  • The salary range for this role is approximately $225,000.
Responsibilities:
  • Partner with senior leadership to develop and execute long-range operational strategies that support company growth initiatives.
  • Align facility operations, workforce planning, and network capabilities with evolving business objectives.
  • Establish measurable goals, performance indicators, and accountability standards across the organization.
  • Assess operational risks, capacity requirements, and investment opportunities from a broad supply chain perspective.
  • Lead annual planning and forecasting efforts to ensure readiness for future expansion.
Distribution Network Management:
  • Direct all aspects of a two-site distribution and fulfillment operation.
  • Ensure consistent achievement of service levels, inventory integrity, throughput targets, quality standards, and operational KPIs.
  • Promote standardized processes and best practices across facilities.
  • Utilize operational data and performance trends to identify gaps and implement improvement plans.
  • Foster a highly disciplined, execution-focused operating culture.
Budgeting, Productivity & Cost Control:
  • Maintain responsibility for operating expenses, staffing strategies, capital projects, and overall financial performance.
  • Drive initiatives that improve workflow efficiency, labor utilization, and network productivity.
  • Leverage business intelligence and operational analytics to enhance decision-making.
  • Evaluate trade-offs between customer service, operational costs, speed, and quality to maximize overall performance.
  • Deliver sustainable cost savings while supporting service excellence.
Leadership & Team Development:
  • Build, mentor, and retain a high-performing operations leadership team.
  • Create alignment around key business priorities and organizational objectives.
  • Develop succession plans and leadership pipelines to support long-term organizational success.
  • Collaborate with HR on workforce planning, organizational design, and talent initiatives.
  • Promote a culture centered on engagement, accountability, safety, and results.
Process Improvement & Technology:
  • Serve as a champion for modern operational practices and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity through automation, systems enhancements, AI-driven analytics, and emerging technologies.
  • Lead projects that increase scalability, efficiency, and customer responsiveness.
  • Evaluate new tools and operating models that strengthen competitive positioning and network performance.
Cross-Functional Partnership & Risk Preparedness:
  • Collaborate closely with executive teams and functional leaders to support strategic decision-making.
  • Present operational insights, business risks, and performance recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Build productive relationships with third-party partners, vendors, and service providers.
  • Oversee contingency planning, risk mitigation efforts, and operational continuity programs.
  • Ensure facilities are prepared to effectively respond to disruptions and changing business conditions.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Advanced degree or MBA preferred.
  • 12+ years of progressive leadership experience within a retail/fashion/consumer products distribution, logistics, supply chain, manufacturing, or large-scale operations environments.
  • Track record of leading multiple facilities and complex operational organizations.
  • Demonstrated success driving operational transformation, productivity improvements, and business growth.
  • Experience managing sizeable operating budgets and capital investment initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of warehouse management systems, business intelligence reporting tools, and data analytics platforms.
