Job Description

Our client, a beloved and iconic children’s media and publishing brand, is seeking a Senior UX/UI Designer to join their eCommerce and Digital Experience team on a full-time basis. This role partners closely with business units, engineering, content, and marketing teams to solve complex user challenges and deliver best-in-class digital experiences across ecommerce, transactional workflows, and personalized interactions. The ideal candidate is a user-centered designer with strong visual sensibility, deep Figma expertise, and a track record of delivering polished, well-documented end-to-end design across large-scale responsive web and ecommerce platforms.

  • This is a ongoing freelance assignment. Remote working EST hours. Pay Rate: $65-75/hour.

Responsibilities:

  • Translate research and problem space insights into thoughtful design concepts across ecommerce, marketing, and transactional digital experiences.
  • Create and present design concepts, interactive prototypes, and detailed documentation that clearly communicates macro and micro-level features and functionality to engineering and cross-functional partners.
  • Collaborate with the Research team on qualitative user research, analytics data, and industry best practices to identify constraints and propose effective, user-centered design solutions.
  • Partner with engineers to bring final design solutions to life, ensuring clarity and accuracy throughout handoff, QA, and release.
  • Work cross-functionally with content, ecommerce, and marketing stakeholders to gain alignment and support for design decisions.
  • Apply strong visual design judgment across typography, color, layout, and interaction to deliver simple, elegant solutions to complex problems.
  • Ensure all design work meets accessible design standards, including WCAG 2.1 AA compliance.
  • Contribute to and leverage enterprise-scale UI component libraries and design systems within Figma.
  • Optimize revenue funnels, checkout flows, account experiences, and cross-promotional opportunities across the digital ecosystem.

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience designing user experiences across multiple platforms, with a strong focus on responsive web.
  • Portfolio of UX/UI case studies demonstrating end-to-end design deliverables including user flows, IA diagrams, high-fidelity wireframes, and fully spec’d engineering handoffs such as annotated prototypes and comps. Candidates will be asked to present at least two case studies during the interview process, preferably focused on responsive web rather than native app experiences.
  • Robust Figma expertise, including working within enterprise-scale component libraries and design systems.
  • Experience translating research insights and workshop outputs into actionable design strategies aligned with business goals and KPIs.
  • Strong visual design sensibility with a keen eye for typography, color, and layout.
  • Knowledge of accessible design practices and WCAG 2.1 AA standards.
  • Exceptional communication, storytelling, and analytical skills with a proactive, collaborative approach to problem-solving across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Familiarity with development and CMS tools such as JIRA and Adobe Analytics.
  • Previous agency or consulting experience is preferred.
  • Experience with Adobe Experience Manager is a plus.

If you meet the required qualifications and are interested in this role, please apply today.
