Our client is seeking a temporary Cost Accountant for an onsite position based in Rockleigh, NJ, with rotational travel to Bergan County, NJ and Orange County, NY manufacturing facilities. This role is responsible for product costing, inventory analysis, manufacturing cost reporting, and supporting key financial and operational processes. Role Overview:
- Duration: Ongoing temporary basis, potential to convert to direct hire
- Temporary Pay: $40-45/hr W2 (No C2C or 1099)
- Potential Salary Range: $85,000 - $95,000
- Schedule: Fully onsite, Monday - Thursday 8:30 AM to 5PM, Fridays occasionally end by 1:30 PM
- Travel: Mainly working out of Rockleigh, NJ with occasional rotational travel to facilities in Bergan County, NJ and Orange County, NY
Responsibilities:
- Manage and support the SAP Product Costing module.
- Monitor product, material, and inventory costs across manufacturing operations.
- Oversee consignment inventory, physical counts, and audit support activities.
- Review manufacturing and inventory-related general ledger accounts.
- Analyze manufacturing costs, inventory reserves, and cost adjustments, including journal entries.
- Develop reporting on manufacturing KPIs, inventory usage, and inventory trends.
- Partner with finance, operations, supply chain, and planning teams to support costing and inventory initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
- Minimum 3 years of cost accounting experience in a process manufacturing environment required.
- Experience with cost reporting, inventory accounting, and cross-functional collaboration required.
- Strong knowledge of SAP FI/CO, Product Costing, and Material Ledger modules required.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required; Microsoft Access experience is a plus.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills with the ability to solve complex business problems.
