A successful and growing FinTech company is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join its Trading technology team. The company builds sophisticated technology used by investment professionals and financial institutions to manage complex portfolio and trading workflows. This is a hands-on engineering role working on a high-performance Order Management System (OMS) supporting the full trading order lifecycle. You’ll build scalable, low-latency distributed systems that connect portfolio managers with executing brokers and support trade execution, allocation, and post-trade workflows.

• Base salary: $130K to $210K
• Bonus + equity + benefits

Responsibiliites:

• Architect and build scalable backend systems using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices
• Design high-volume, distributed and event-driven systems
• Build trade order lifecycle and orchestration functionality
• Develop broker connectivity using FIX, REST APIs, and file-based integrations
• Build cloud-native solutions using AWS and Kafka
• Work extensively with concurrency, JVM performance, resiliency, and fault tolerance
• Help drive architecture and technical direction
• Mentor engineers and establish strong engineering standards

Required Qualifications:

• 8+ years of software engineering experience
• Strong hands-on Java and Spring Boot experience
• Experience building complex distributed systems at scale
• Experience with high-throughput or high-transaction systems
• Strong knowledge of concurrency, multithreading, and JVM performance
• AWS and Kafka
• SQL, NoSQL, and database architecture
• Strong system design and architecture skills

Preferred:

• Trading, capital markets, FinTech, or financial services experience
• Order Management System (OMS) experience
• FIX protocol knowledge
• Quarkus experience
• React exposure
