Solomon Page is partnering with our client, a leading specialty retailer, to hire an Art Director for a 2-month contract based in Columbus, Ohio. This role is onsite and will work on set most days of the week. The Art Director will lead the creative direction of rebranded PDP imagery, with a strong focus on hands-on photo art direction, product imagery, and high-volume visual content.

• Location: Columbus, OH | Onsite | On set most days of the week

• Duration: 2-month contract

• Pay Rate: $75-80/hour

• Hours: 40 hours/week

Responsibilities:

• Provide hands-on art direction and creative concepting for on-set photography and PDP imagery.

• Develop creative concepts, mood boards, comps, visual research, and design assets to communicate ideas.

• Translate brand strategy into cohesive creative presentations and campaigns aligned with brand guidelines.

• Ensure creative alignment across graphic design, copy, and visual merchandising.

• Maintain strong creative standards while introducing new ideas and approaches.

• Stay current on social media, fashion, and cultural trends and test new creative approaches.

• Manage marketing budgets related to branded assets and collateral.

• Inspire, coach, and mentor creative talent.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of Art Director or design experience with increasing levels of responsibility.

• Several years of on-set photo art direction experience, ideally within personal care, home, retail, fashion, or cosmetics.

• Strong PDP photography experience with the ability to direct still-product photography.

• Strong typography, layout, color palette, image curation, mood boarding, comping, and presentation skills.

• Hands-on proficiency with Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.

• Experience using AI and prompting to generate imagery and content aligned with brand standards.

• Solution-oriented, curious, self-starting, agile, and comfortable working with ambiguity.

• Portfolio demonstrating relevant work is required.
